David Shorey ~ Bio
I was born and raised in southern Maine and I am the son of a successful building contractor. I am a college graduate from the University of Southern Maine with a bachelor of art’s degree in Communication, class of 1993 including a study abroad program at Nottingham Polytechnic, Nottingham, England. My wife Joanne and I moved from Portland, Maine to the Boston area in February of 1996. We have a beautiful 9-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son that keep us young and busy.
I am in my 15th year in real estate in Massachusetts and my 13th year with Re/Max working mostly in the Cambridge, Boston, Somerville, Belmont, Arlington, Medford, Brookline, Lexington, Newton, Melrose, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester, Waltham and Watertown markets, as well as others.
With significant experience in condominiums, luxury homes, multi-family homes sales and rentals combined with ownership of investment property in the Boston area, I can knowledgeably guide you through the investment buying process while also giving great tips on being a Landlord or provide guidance for future condominium conversions. With helpful resources such as carpentry, electrical and plumbing, I can offer speedy guidance during a difficult home inspection or provide a wonderful referral for your future home improvement projects.
I am currently an active member of the Greater Boston Board of Realtors, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors, the National Association of Realtors and the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). I am an active member of the Council of Residential Specialist (CRS) recognized as the top producing residential Realtor organization in the country, and I have earned my designation by selling over $25,000,000 in sales over the past 5 years (only the top 4% of Realtors nationally qualify) along with the required course work and examinations.
I am a member of the Cambridge Community of Realtors as well as the Real Estate Buyers Agent Council (REBAC) receiving my Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) designation, recognized in the industry as the top buyer agent designation. I am a graduate of the Leaders Choice Real Estate Program, which focuses on creative ways to help sellers market and sell their homes.
I also recently received my designation as a nationally recognized Doctor’s Agent (DRS) after having successfully assisted many doctors in the buying and selling of property.
I was recognized by RE/MAX New England in 2009 for ranking #7 for all RE/MAX agents in New England for total production for the months of April-June and #17 for the same timeframe in 2010. RE/MAX New England has over 2,800 Sales Associates with over 225 offices in 6 states.
I am a member of the prestigious RE/MAX Hall of Fame club which signifies a gross lifetime income of $1,000,000 in commissions and a 9-time member of the internationally recognized RE/MAX 100% Club which signifies annual gross income of over $100,000. I continually enroll in courses offered by the Greater Boston Real Estate Board and from RE/MAX International.
My hobbies and interests are mostly in family time, supporting the professional Boston sports teams, golfing, listening to live music, playing guitar/singing and reading.
